Privacy
Lectio Divina Tua collects nothing about you. This page explains what that means, in plain words.

Who is responsible
Lectio Divina Tua is made by Thom Ives. You can write to him at hello@lectiodivinatua.org.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no server, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its maker receives no information about you or about how you use it.
Where your information is kept
What you do in the app stays with you. That covers the readings you have marked, your plan, your diary, the passages you are memorizing, and your settings.
- On your device. The app keeps it in its own storage on your phone, or in your browser on a computer.
- In your own Google Drive, if you choose to sync. Sync is off until you turn it on. When it is on, the app keeps a copy in a folder it creates in your own Google Drive, named "Lectio Divina Tua", so that your devices stay in step. Before anything leaves your device, it is sealed (encrypted) with a key that only your devices hold. Google stores the sealed files but cannot read them, and nor can the app's maker.
Your recovery key
When you first turn on sync, the app shows you a recovery key once. It is the only way to open your sealed copy on a new device, or after a device is lost. The recovery key itself is kept nowhere: not on your devices, not in your Drive, and not by the app's maker. Keep it somewhere safe. Without it, no one can recover the sealed copy.
Google sign-in and Google Drive
To sync, you sign in to Google and give the app one permission: to see and change only the files it creates itself in your Google Drive. It cannot see anything else in your Drive. The permission is held on your device and is used only to read and write the app's own sealed files. You can withdraw it at any time in your Google Account, under Security, Third-party connections.
Lectio Divina Tua's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google's own handling of your account is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Other services the app opens for you
- Saint of the day opens Franciscan Media's website in your browser.
- Open Kindle, where you use it, opens Amazon's Kindle app or website.
These are separate services with their own privacy policies. The app passes nothing about you to them.
Texts you install
If you install a Bible text of your own from a file, it stays on the device where you installed it. It is not sent anywhere, and it is not synced.
Children
The app is meant for adults and teenagers, not for children under 13, and knowingly collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Removing your information
Uninstalling the app, or clearing the browser's storage, removes what is kept on that device. To remove the synced copy, delete the "Lectio Divina Tua" folder from your Google Drive. Nothing is kept anywhere else.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page, with its date.
